Subj : Gulls
Once upon a time, a man was stranded on a desert island. For years, he watched a school of dolphins frolicking near the beach. Throughout the years, he came to know the dolphins very well, and noticed that none of them ever died or even seemed to grow old! He was amazed, so for another year he studied them intensely. He could find no reason for this oddity except that they ate only very young seagulls. He would watch them leap from the water and snatch them right from the air. The older birds would sit on the waves with impunity, but let a youngster fly over and BAM!... dolphin food. He continued to enjoy his dolphins until on day, a dead dolphin washed up on the beach.
He looked anxiously out to see and noticed that there were no seagulls to be seen, young or old, and he panicked! How could he save his beloved pets? He knew that there were nesting grounds on the other side of the island, but the only path to them was right in the middle of the territory of a crotchety old lion. He decided that the risk was worth it, so he fashioned a net and started off the for nesting grounds. Sure enough, he came upon the old lion lying in the path, sound asleep. Carefully he stepped over him and went on his way. Upon reaching the nest sights, he gathered up every baby bird he could find and started for home. He came again to the lion and stepped carefully across, but just as he did so, the game warden leapt out of the bushes and arrested him!!
And do you know why....... Why for....... TRANSPORTING YOUNG GULLS ACROSS A STATE LION FOR IMORTAL PORPOUSES .... of course!!
