A lot of people, think that I have surgically attached a coffee cup to my hand. That is not true either.. I just hate putting down those deliciously warm and wonderful smelling cups of coffee.
It is true that I do maintain an awesome index of coffee shops and in fact invite people to contribute to the list, but that does not mean I'm one of those obsessive coffee drinkers.
It is true that I am the inventor of the 'Kona Friday', the 'Maxwell House Liquid Breakfast', and the 'Great Caffeine Taste-off', too bad that one never took off. I believe I am the first to document the Cross-Caffeinated Syndrome - CCS.
It is also true that I named my web page www.TheCoffeePlace.com. OK ... maybe that was my wife's idea.
It is also true that I am indeed immune to caffeine and can drink coffee from wakeup to sleepy time and still not feel any ill effects.
But I'm not one of those obsessive coffee drinkers you keep hearing and reading about. I don't slam down coffee, and I don't live, breath, walk and talk coffee. I do not have an expresso bar. .
Off and on, I have been studying French. I look forward to the day when I visit France to speak to some of the great French coffee makers. I'd ask them questions like ... So was French roast discovered before Italian roast? Being from France do you feel a special bond with a French roast coffee? Do you resent the Italians for coming up with their own roasting techniques? Have you ever been to the Blue Mountain? Are their any Starbucks nearby?
